The Baby –

  • Is around 5 œ inches, i.e. almost the size of baked potato.
  • Has ear bones working well and cute little ears that can hear sounds thanks to amniotic liquid. It is just like how you hear the sound underwater.
  • Started moving. S/he is still small enough that you may not even feel every punch and kick yet. But the movements will be more like a foot rather than ‘bubble like’.

You –

  • You may feel dizzy again and again, especially when you don’t have good snacks for several hours. Try to eat more often in a few hours and prefer good things like nuts, yogurt, veggies, fruits and cheese and stay hydrated. Don’t go with empty calories like junk food and chips.
  • Might not be sleeping properly at night. You can sleep on your side. Try to sleep with a little pillow between lower thighs or knees.

You might get an ultrasound around 18 to 20 weeks. These days many women get one ultrasound. Usually women get the first glimpse of their babies. There are also medical reasons to get ultrasound to spot any potential problems early on. Sometimes, a baby doesn’t remain leg-crossed tightly and cooperates in the exam.
